An iOS mobile app that lets you find and create fitness events near you.

OVERVIEW
Our task was to research, define and design the mobile event creation portion of the Fitter app.

TOOLS & METHODS
Surveys, User Interviews, Wireframing, Prototyping, Usability Testing

ANALYSIS: QUALITATIVE // INTERVIEWS

Through stakeholder interviews and surveys we discovered more about the project goals and how users were currently creating fitness events. We also conducted user interviews to learn more behind the users' motivations for creating fitness events.

KEY INSIGHTS

1. Simplify the event creation.
Originally we designed a 3 step event creation but after user testing we simplified the event details and add photo screens into one.

2. Community
We designed an easy way to invite your close friends through your contacts and share the event with your larger community.

3. Flexibility
We heard from users that the ability to come back and edit the event on desktop or mobile was essential.

USABILITY TESTING

We conducted many usability tests with our target audience - people who attend fitness events and people who create fitness events. We conducted the tests at many stages using different iterations of the Fitter prototype.

ITERATIONS

WHAT WE LEARNED: One of the initial prototypes opened a separate page to input each item (Category, Location, Date & Time). We simplified the design into accordions to prevent the user from jumping back and forth between screens.

USER FLOW

WHAT WE LEARNED

  1. Simplifying the steps of the process helped our users focus on the task.

  2. After learning from our users we modified the layout for a better preview with the option to edit if any mistakes were found before posting the event.
